Mocha Chocolate Brownie

Mocha Chocolate Brownie is a delicious combination of chocolate, mocha, walnuts or pecan, butter, eggs, sugar and vanilla.


Makes 36 mocha bars. 


Ingredients: 


4 eggs


2 tablespoons instant coffee powder 


2 cups caster sugar 


1 teaspoon Baking powder 


½ cup butter 


3 square unsweetened melted chocolate  


1 ½ cup maida (flour) 


1 ½ teaspoon salt 


½ cup shortening (or butter) 


½ cup chopped pecan  


Pecan halves 


Icing sugar 

  Instructions
 

 




· Blend melted chocolate and coffee together and keep it aside to cool.


· Sift flour, baking powder and salt in another bowl.


· Mix butter with shortening until the mixture is light and fluffy.


· Gradually add sugar and mix well.


· Add eggs and beat till well until blended.


· Stir in the chocolate and coffee mixture.


· Add the flour mixture to it and stir in chopped nuts. Mix well.


· Take a 13x9x2 inch greased and floured pan and pour the mixture into it.


· Bake the brownie mixture in a preheated oven at 350 degree for 30-40 minutes or until done.


· Let the brownie cool.


· To make the browned butter icing, heat ¼ cup butter until lightly browned and foamy. Be careful not to burn it.


· Beat in 3 cups of sifted icing sugar, 3 tablespoons half and half and 1 teaspoon vanilla extract until the mixture is smooth.


· Spread the browned butter icing mixture on the brownie and place pecan half in the center each bar.


· Once the icing is set, cut into bar.
