This is a classic blend of melted dark chocolate with fresh cream.  It is one of the simplest recipes among the other chocolate fondue recipes.  It has a velvety texture and a rich chocolate taste.

Serves: 8

Ingredients:

· 1 ½ cup of heavy cream

· Water as and when required

· 8ounces of semi sweetened brown chocolate (finely crushed)

· 1 teaspoon vanilla essence (extracts)

· 1 pound fresh cake cut into cubes

· 1 cup marshmallows

· 1 cup walnuts

  Instructions

· Place the fondue dish on the stand and fill it with 2 full cups of water (warm).

· Bring out a medium sized saucepan and place it on the stove (low flame).  Add the cream gently into the pan and heat it till you notice a little steam coming out of it.  It would normally take 2 to 3 minutes. Pay attention to the amount of heat coming out off the pan, it should not be brought to boiling temperature.

· Remove the saucepan from the flame and keep aside.

· Crumble 8 ounces of semi sweetened chocolate into warm cream.

· Stir this mixture well till the chocolate dissolves completely and melts into the heavy cream.  The appearance of the mixture should be creamy and smooth.

· Gradually add 1 teaspoon of vanilla essence and continue to stir for 2 to 3 minutes.

· Once the mixture is well blended.  Transfer the entire mixture into a fondue pot.

Serve with marshmallows, walnuts and fresh cake (cubed).

The key to every beautiful fondue is to keep the flame extremely low while melting your chocolate.
